I am offering these prints for sale to raise funds for a home emergency. My homeowner’s insurance company is threatening to drop me if I don’t fix a major crack in the foundation and cut the trees that are growing into the roof. “Held Fast” is a Silk Screen print I created in a workshop at Remarque Print Studio in Albuquerque, NM with printmaker Pete McCracken. I love the print I pulled- the design came to me spontaneously and I created it right there in class. I had a few problems, but overall, I love it, and I hope you will too. The first stencil I made was backwards- you can see if you look closely under the held fast banner some softened letters. I didn’t want to start over, so I literally just painted over them in a cream color- initially I was planning on having gold show through the letters, but, ah well, now it’s a mixed media print.

Payne’s greyish with deep dark brick red at the very edges over goldenrod. On white printmaking paper. Signed by artist. Listed on print as A/P (artist proof). No edition.

Print comes rolled in a box. Upon receipt, open immediately. Lay flat. Gently roll the print the opposite way- a little at the top and a little at the bottom to unroll the curve a bit - gently! Then lay flat on print side on a clean surface and it will flatten out. If you can weight it, that will help too.
