Workshop
Description:
In this three day self discovery
courtship learn the nationally recognized creative process of Extreme
Visual Journalism designed by Juliana Coles that will enable you to
explore your rich interior and give voice to a personal mythology. Create
with other women to motivate your ideas and learn the art of self expression
in a supportive community. No prior art or writing experience necessary
to participate in a weekend filled with guided Extreme Visual Journaling assignments
that combine journal writing with art making in the safe container of a blank
book. Enjoy outdoor sketching and writing as well as reflection &
relaxation in the healing mineral pools of Ojo Caliente while being gently
held in the ancient, mystical and soul enriching Land of Enchantment.

wild bride of deep feminine meaning, intuition & creativity, with the

Welcome
Wild Brides:
Begin this intensive Extreme Visual Journaling retreat by warming up
with a mixed media creativity session designed to explore the rich interior
of the self unencumbered by harsh critical voices from within. Once
confident in using these exciting materials, free from limiting beliefs of
what an artist is, or what one is capable of expressing, we will gently turn
inward through guided assignments that combine journal writing expressions
with art making explorations in the safe container of a book/journal.
Create your own Visual Journal in the relaxing and soul enriching
surroundings of magical Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs. What better way
to court and woo your own personal mythology and discover how enriching
the journey to Selfhood can be. Expand your creativity through process
as opposed to product making. No prior art or writing experience necessary.
All Wild Brides will receive a packing instructions booklet for this Courtship.
It will include a suggested supplies list (though not necessary-mixed
media materials will be provided), some specific items you will need to make
this journey, an inspiration list of book possibilities for your Journal (such
as size, paper, etc.), as well as a few assignments (if you have time) to
prepare you for the ultimate journey. Consider this a honeymoon. You deserve
it. Make a vow to yourself. Learn to be your own true love.
General Itinerary:
Wednesday, September 20 after 3:00: Arrival/Check-in. Relax
and prepare body, mind, spirit in the soothing/invigorating mineral pools
and enjoy a healthy meal in the Hotel restaurant or cook in your own kitchenette!
Thursday, September 21: Enjoy breakfast in the hotel restaurant or prepare something simple in your kitchenette then join me from 10:00 -1:00 for our morning mixed media jam session and gentle introduction to Extreme Visual Journaling. Break for lunch from 1:00-2:00 and then return until 5:00 for our afternoon Extreme Journalism Session. Free time for spa treatments, mineral baths, hiking, and dinner is for the rest of the evening. Participants are free to create in the studio all night.
Friday, September 22: Schedule same as above- with an evening Extreme Visual Journaling session 7:00-10:00 pm.
Saturday, September 23: Schedule same as above

at 11:00 am.
